Yoga is what its joins. It is the joining of Jivatma with the individual self with the universal SELF.
According to Patanjali Yoga Sutras . Yoga is a conscious process of gaining mastery over the mind. 

Yoga is process of all-round personality development by 
  • Deep relaxation at mascular level. 
  • Slowing down of the breath and maintaining balance at panic level. 
  • increasing creative and willpowers at mental level.
  • Sharpening the intellect and calming down the mind at intellectual level. 
  • enhancing the happiness in life and equipoise at emotional level. 
  • Manifestating the innate divinity in man in all aspects of life. 

First signs of Yoga Process are
  • Lightness of body 
  • Good health 
  • un thirst mind 
  • clearness of complexion ,
  • beautiful voice 
  • agreeble odour 
  • scantiness of excretions
